Ambassador Huckabee, in a statement from his account on the US-based X social media platform, stated that The Washington Post photojournalist Levine, who was following the olive harvest in the village of Ebu Falah in the West Bank, was seriously injured in a "degrading and cowardly" attack.
Emphasizing that those who attacked the US citizen Levine, who was clearly a member of the press, should spend their years in prison, Huckabee said, "Attacking a female photographer is a contemptible terrorist act carried out by masked cowards. This is a shameless sign of meaningless violence."
The Washington Post Photojournalist Was Attacked
Today, while following the olive harvest with Palestinians in the occupied West Bank village of Ebu Falah, Levine was attacked by about 80 Israeli men with their faces masked as they followed the olive harvest in Palestinian territories.
Levine recounted that the attackers knocked him down and kicked him for about 10 minutes or longer while he was on the ground, forcibly took his phone, broke his cameras, and tore his bag, and was then rescued by Palestinians and taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Levine said, "I fell down and they kicked me for about 10 minutes. They tried to hold onto my cameras and bag. They forcibly ripped off my belt bag where my passport was, took my cameras, and tore my bag."
Israelis from the Palestinian territories frequently target Palestinians who are harvesting olives and the journalists in the area with attacks.
