Jet Linx sees summer private jet surge, shorter booking window

The Hamptons on Long Island in New York State have seen a 200% increase in private jet arrivals for Jet Linx so far this summer. Jet Linx Aviation’s summer flight activity is up 5.8% since the beginning of June. The number of passengers carried is up 7.6%. Nearly one-third (32.7%) of flights have five or more passengers. What’s more, the top 10 charter/fractional operators say the booking window is getting tighter. A quarter of its private jet charter flights are being booked within four days of departure. In a report titled, “The Private Summer: How America’s Wealthy Are Traveling,” Jet Linx said, “Travelers are booking closer to departure, flying in larger groups, and choosing a changing mix of destinations, from classic summer favorites like the Hamptons and Nantucket to rising mountain and high-desert escapes like Santa Fe and Jackson Hole.” Westhampton Beach on Long Island, New York, has seen arrivals increase by 200% since the beginning of June, while San Antonio, Texas, is up 100%, and the Bahamas have seen a 96% spike. Santa Fe, New Mexico, arrivals are up 80%. Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is 50% higher than it was a year ago during the same period. The World Cup also boosted summer private jet travel. Teterboro Airport, the closest airport to games being played in the New York City area and the site of the final, saw a 104% year-over-year increase. Across all markets that hosted World Cup matches, flight activity rose 22% compared to a similar period in 2025. The company, which has a fuel surcharge on its jet card, says demand held during the fuel strikes since the beginning of the Iran War. Year-to-date sales of its jet card are up 65% year over year. Still, Jet Linx says UHNWs are cautious about spending. “Private flying is becoming a financial decision rather than a status purchase. Buyers want value, not vanity,” according to Jet Linx. WingX data shows charter and fractional private jet departures were up 10% year-over-year during the first half of 2026. Compared to pre-Covid 2019, private jet charter and fractional flights are up 56%.
