Delta Air Lines investigates rogue Wi

As reported by Bleeping Computer, Delta Air Lines is investigating an unauthorized Wi-Fi network that appeared aboard a flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta carrying passengers who had attended the DEF CON hacker convention. The incident occurred Monday on Flight 591 and did not affect the safety of the passengers or aircraft operating systems.The unauthorized network, named "Delta WiFi Fast," was reportedly created by passengers attending the DEF CON hacker conference. These passengers allegedly used a Wi-Fi deauthentication attack to disrupt the aircraft's legitimate Wi-Fi and broadcast their own network. This rogue network displayed a phishing page designed to steal personal credentials and Google login data. Cabin crew deactivated the aircraft's Wi-Fi for nearly 30 minutes after discovering the unauthorized network.Delta Air Lines is cooperating with federal law enforcement and aviation regulators to investigate the incident. After the flight landed, federal authorities and airport police boarded the aircraft to question suspects and seize their equipment.
