Tangier: the FITUT returns for its 19th edition
The 19th edition of the International Festival of University Theatre of Tangier (FITUT) will take place from October 26 to 30.
This cultural and artistic event aims to promote university theatrical creation, foster artistic and cultural exchanges between students and professionals, and highlight theatre as a space for expression, creativity, and dialogue between cultures, according to a statement from the organizers.
This event also aims to contribute to the cultural and artistic radiance of the city of Tangier by showcasing university theatrical initiatives and promoting openness to different artistic and cultural experiences.
The jury for this edition is composed of figures from the Moroccan theatre and artistic landscape, including the writer and director El Meskini Sghir, the actresses Naïma Elias and Hajar Alsharki, as well as the actor Abderrahim El Meniari.
The program includes a series of performances at the Palace of Arts and Culture and in other spaces in the city, with the participation of artistic institutions and institutions from Morocco, Spain, Poland, Oman, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Portugal, Armenia, and Italy.
In parallel with the shows, theatrical workshops and exchange and debate sessions are planned after the performances to foster interactions between artistic teams and the public.
Through this program, FITUT intends to consolidate the place of university theatre as a space for meeting, creation, and intercultural dialogue, while contributing to the cultural and artistic radiance of Tangier.
