Skoda Contracting Named ENR New York's 2026 Specialty Contractor of the Year The Flanders, N.J.-based firm will be featured in the October print issue of ENR East Skoda Contracting is being recognized as ENR New York’s Specialty Contractor of the Year for successfully expanding its reach and capabilities while investing in its people and the communities it serves. The Flanders, N.J.-based firm will be featured in the October print issue of ENR East, which will also include the ENR East Top Specialty Contractor rankings. The ENR East ranking of contractors includes firms doing business in Connecticut, Delaware, Washington, D.C., Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia. Rankings are based on the total regional revenue from specialty construction services of participating companies, including breakouts by state revenue and by specialty construction specialties and disciplines, as applicable. Skoda is projected to do about $105 million in revenue in 2026, as its backlog is solid with water and gas work. The firm also just opened an electric division this year. Skoda says its recent growth is the result of deliberate investment in its people, its capabilities and geographic reach. The firm has grown from a regional gas contractor into a multi-state utility construction company operating across five divisions. The firm expanded to Maryland, Virginia, the DC Metro area and Pennsylvania. The firm has also diversified its core gas contracting business by building a water, electric and sewer construction department. Skoda Contracting is committed to giving back to the communities. Skoda’s Top Three Projects in the region: Flocktown Interconnection — Elizabethtown Gas | Hackettstown, N.J. Skoda recently completed this three-phase, 7.5-mile, steel pipeline for Elizabethtown Gas—finishing a full month ahead of schedule. One of the most technically demanding pipeline projects in the firm’s recent history, the project included complex bridge hangings, 40-plus offsets and a crew that averaged over 300 linear feet per day. Area Wide Water & Sewer Connection Contract — Prince George's & Montgomery County, Md. This multi-year scattered new business contract represents a strategic milestone for Skoda: the firm’s successful expansion beyond gas into water and sewer construction after the firm deliberately retooled and invested in building a dedicated water construction department, Purple Line Utility Relocation — Washington Gas / Maryland Transit Authority Skoda was selected to relocate dozens of gas pipeline utilities for Washington Gas to clear the corridor for Maryland's new Purple Line light rail system. This high-profile, coordination-intensive project required precision execution alongside a major public infrastructure program and further demonstrates our ability to operate in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
