AI-generated election posters featuring youths shows strong support for GPS, says Jepak rep

BINTULU (July 7): Enthusiasm shown by Sarawak youths through posters generated by artificial intelligence (AI) that feature potential young leaders reflects continued strong support for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), said Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee. He said the creative designs demonstrated the confidence and aspirations of the younger generation in the ruling coalition. “I am highly fascinated by these AI-generated posters, which vividly demonstrate that the support of Sarawak’s youth for GPS remains rock-solid and robust. “The portraits depict charismatic and confident young men and women. Most importantly, they highlight the immense leadership potential and self-assurance thriving among our younger generation,” he said in a statement. Iskandar also expressed his appreciation to the youths who created and shared posters under the Jepak constituency banner. “I deeply appreciate the eagerness of the younger generation to stand together with us in N67 Jepak. Let us move forward as one to develop the constituency under our ‘Sarawak First’ principle,” he said. However, he reminded the public and party machinery not to speculate on upcoming Sarawak state election candidates, stressing that the coalition’s leadership has yet to make any final decision. “As clarified in the official GPS statement, no final decision has been concluded yet regarding the candidates who will contest. Let us collectively respect the democratic process and the absolute decision that will be made by the party’s top leadership at the appropriate time,” he said. He urged party members and constituents to remain focused on serving the people and advancing socioeconomic development in Jepak instead of being distracted by speculation over candidate selection. “What matters most at this juncture is our continued focus on serving the rakyat diligently and bringing meaningful development to our respective areas,” he added. GPS had earlier clarified that no official decisions have been made regarding potential candidates for the next state election, dismissing viral social media postings listing purported candidates as unofficial and unendorsed. GPS spokesman and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) information chief Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the clarification was necessary to avoid confusion among party leaders and grassroots members. However, he said the coalition welcomed the social media postings, describing them as a positive indication of the public’s continued support for GPS. Abdul Karim reiterated that the selection of election candidates remains the prerogative of the coalition’s top leadership and that any official announcement would be made through the appropriate party channels.
