KuGombo City car crash kills 2, leaves 12 injured

Reckless and negligent driving is suspected to have contributed to a collision between a car and a minibus taxi in the Eastern Cape. Two people were killed and twelve others injured in the crash, which happened in Duncan village in KuGompo City on Monday night. The provincial Transport Department says the two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions. Spokesperson Makhaya Komisa says, “The 12 injured passengers from the Toyota Quantum sustained various injuries during the crash, while the driver of the Toyota Quantum escaped unharmed. The injured occupants were rushed to Cecilia Makhiwane and Frere Hospitals for further medical examination. It is alleged that reckless and negligent driving was the main contributing factor to the crash.
