Good News, Trump Declares the End of the War for the Sixth Time
Is there a doctor in the house? Trump needs help.
Why respond to a plea for help when the war is already over?
Great. The war is over again. That means âŚ

Trump Begs for Help
Truth Social: Many Countries, especially those who are affected by Iranâs attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe. We have already destroyed 100% of Iranâs Military capability, but itâs easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close range missile somewhere along, or in, this Waterway, no matter how badly defeated they are. Hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area so that the Hormuz Strait will no longer be a threat by a Nation that has been totally decapitated. In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian Boats and Ships out of the water. One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Trump Admits This Should Have Been a Team Effort
Truth Social: The United States of America has beaten and completely decimated Iran, both Militarily, Economically, and in every other way, but the Countries of the World that receive Oil through the Hormuz Strait must take care of that passage, and we will help â A LOT! The U.S. will also coordinate with those Countries so that everything goes quickly, smoothly, and well. This should have always been a team effort, and now it will be â It will bring the World together toward Harmony, Security, and Everlasting Peace! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Thatâs about as close an admission from Trump that he Fâd up.
The moral of the story is get buy-ins before you start stupid wars.
I am pleased to report the following.

AI Overview
Mish: Has any country announced it will send ships to the Mideast to help trump?
AI: As of March 14, 2026, no country has officially confirmed it will send ships to the Mideast to join a US-led coalition, despite President Trump publicly urging China, France, Japan, South Korea, and the UK to do so to secure the Strait of Hormuz. Trump claimed on Truth Social that these nations would help, but the calls are currently viewed as a request for assistance.
AI Details
- Targeted Nations: Trump named the UK, France, China, Japan, and South Korea as countries that should send warships to protect oil shipping, suggesting it should be a âteam effortâ.
- Responses: None of the named countries have officially confirmed sending vessels, with Japan stating it needs to âcarefully assessâ the request, notes BBC.
- UK Position: Trump stated the UK is âgiving serious thoughtâ to sending two aircraft carriers, but Prime Minister Starmer has not publicly committed to this, focusing instead on national interest notes The Guardian.
- Current Action: The US is deploying more Marines and warships to the region from the Indo-Pacific, separate from any allied contribution, says The New York Times.
In short, itâs another big lie from the worldâs biggest liar.
The Long Synopsis
Trump spending the last year threatening, insulting, and alienating our allies â only to now turn around and beg them for help â really is a moment of pure political karma. For decades after World War II, one of Americaâs greatest sources of strength wasnât just our military or economy. It was our alliances. NATO. Partnerships across Europe and Asia. A global network of allies who trusted the United States because we stood with them and they stood with us. That system of alliances helped keep the world stable for generations. Trump spent a single year torching those relationships â attacking allies, telling them we didnât need them, and declaring that America had already âwonâ without them. Now, suddenly, he wants their help. The nerve. You donât spend months telling your closest partners to go to hell and then expect them to line up when you snap your fingers. Alliances are built on trust. Trump burned that trust down and now the entire world can see the consequences.
The Short Synopsis
When you slap allies in the face with massive tariffs, and when you break every deal you make, what happens?
They say F off. Thatâs what happens.
Besides no one has any idea what the endgame even is. Why enter a quagmire?

Well, yeah, 7 months makes sense to me. Did anyone else think that the sudden pitch for a $1.5 trillion budget (roughly 50% increase) might be in part due to anticipation of a longer war? I donât think everyone in the Pentagon is an idiot, and even if they couldnât stop the insanity, they understand what it takes to keep those fleets out there on combat duty.
TBH though I donât think this will go more than a few months before Israel reaches a crisis point as their economic infrastructure will be in tatters. By end of summer, we could also see Iran declaring themselves a nuclear state, having built multiple nuclear devices. Weâll going to see just how committed Israel is to this war. Are they willing to risk permanent dismantlement of their country?
Theyâve bullied themselves into an existential crisis. Israel is had made itself an aggressive nuclear threat to Iran.

Best estimates show about 175 days of oil are available before collapse. That can stretch as prices go up and people start using less. At that point, heavy petro users will not be able to afford to keep their businesses operating at capacity, nor will they be able to make their debt bonds. The defaults will start there. The financial institutions that own that debt will be hit and wonât be able to make their debt payments. Banks will lose trust in each other and the international banking system will freeze up ala 2007 but on a much grander scale. Businesses wonât be able to borrow to maintain inventory and other necessities and the world economy will collapse into a depression.

Not according to Israel. A spokesperson for Israel says that they still have 3 weeks of planned attacks on Iran.
No mention of their plans for Gaza and Lebanon.
In 3 weeks time oil and LNG prices will be much higher, and recession in many countries will be guaranteed. A release from SPRs and sanctioned Russian oil will help a little bit, but only for a short while.
US manufacturing will be looking at big increases in input costs.
The US military will be getting desperately low on many types of munitions, with a restricted ability to manufacture more, as shortages of critical inputs reaches crisis levels.
At least they wonât have that stuff to use on citizens when the second coup attempt happens.
The financial news outlets are acting like nothing is awry and promoting the war as if it has been wind and the resumption of the takeover of Iran by Israel and the US is about to return massive dividends to financial markets.
Spain and a few south American countries are being featured and renegade non-supporters and late last week France was allegedly sending 10 warships.

Unstoppable arrogance (Trump) meets immovable quagmire (Iran). Iâm curious to how this age old question gets answered.
There is a reason why nobody apart from Israel wants to be part of this cluster****
This probably is unlikely. The worst-case scenario is for Iran to acquire a Pakistan nuke and a hypersonic missile from Russia. After the US and Israel use up interceptor capacity, they nuke Israel and destroy a US aircraft carrier. Of course, this is Iranâs wet dream. More likely, the war will drag on with Iran holding nuclear materials and the radicals in power. The US needs to use ground troops to win and Iran canât possibly win given US airpower. This could be a long war like the Ukraine mess.
If Iran wanted to nuke Israel it can already do so with radiological material from their enriched uranium. It wonât be a bomb that goes kaboom, it will be a bomb that spreads radioactive poison and makes Israel uninhabitable for 100,000 years.
There are plenty of missiles and drones getting through the âiron domeâ already. For everyone terrified of Iran getting nukes, whatâs the excuse Iran hasnât just sent in dirty bombs if they are so intent on using them?
If Iran had really wanted to nuke Israel it could have done so years ago.
I donât think Iran would attack with a dirty bomb, and is unlikely to use a nuke first. Unlike Israel and the U.S. they have largely avoided attacks that inflict mass casualties on civilians.
If the death of the Islamic Republic is at hand, they will use nukes. They donât have that capability.
Unfortunately, you are probably looking at a minimum of 750,000 boots on the ground, with accompanying tanks, other transport, fuel carriers, artillery, food, water, etc⌠to support them. The problem is getting them on the ground. During the Iraq war, the US shipped everything to Saudi Arabia and staged there. There is no staging area for Iraq. Thatâs been cut off. So you are looking at a direct landing on the shores of Iran. And the US does not have anywhere near the troop landing capacity to do that. Todayâs navy is designed for standing off and firing missiles and launching aircraft. Landing capacity is designed for special forces and small groups of marines, not WWII style attacks on Normandy. Iran can destroy oil tankers and naval vessels from hundreds of miles away, so even a light landing near the strait wonât make a difference. Thatâs why no President has ever been stupid enough to attack Iran militarily. Until now. Of course, when this is all over, Iâll blame Biden, cause thatâs what Fox will tell me to believe!
Iran is mountainous, tanks are useless. I think 750,000 is too high. Iâm pretty sure the US would use airborne to land in strategic areas, maybe 50k troops. If the assault were successful more troops are needed to pacify the region. Itâs pretty much a logistic and military nightmare, I donât think the military would want such an operation. Itâs nuts! However, Trump will do anything to win!
I do blame Biden but in a round-about way. Biden shouldnât have run for a second term. Somehow though he did the calculus that Harris couldnât win on her own. So he needed to get re-elected and then let her become president when he stepped down. It would have been much better to have had an open primary to choose a successor to Biden. Maybe Harris would have won the nomination, maybe she wouldnât. But whoever won would have been battle tested and ready to take on Trump in Nov 2024.

Iâm becoming convinced that he will use China as a get-out-of-Iran card and trade Taiwan for China smoothing out the bumpy ride of the âexcursionâ
It has finally penetrated his skull that 7 weeks is untenable, let alone 7 months
He needs to be deposed
Where the eff did he ever get the idea that a 7 week or 7 months âexcursionâ on his whim was OK? (which puts the lie to the âurgent need to strikeâ reason for not informing the US)
Oh, I forgot, heâs the âsmartest guy in the roomâ
A Taiwan war or occupation is unlikely IMO. Yes China wants Taiwan for pride reasons. But it is an island fortress. It can be bombed to submission but then what value does it have?
China will continue to play the long game on Taiwan. Sadly they are becoming the only adult âSuper-Powerâ in the room.
âan island fortressâ entirely dependent on resources controlled by others
Agreed. So a naval blockade is the most obvious route to push Taiwan to capitulation.
But that is a long game scenario with limited real benefit in the medium term.
The costs to China will outweigh the benefits. At the moment China is imperialistic but also rational in its decision making.
China definitely has been playing the long game for a decade now. Examples:
âThey have constructed a large fleet of RORO âcommercialâ ferries that all happen to be fully compatible with carrying Chinese armor.
âThey have constructed a huge mobile tripartite pier that is fully compatible with all the RORO ferries and usable at several spots on the Taiwan coast. (With a second one under construction.)
âIn the western China desert, they have built a huge scale railroad track which moves around life size replicas of US carriers with curves laid out to match expected evassive manuevers. For their airforce to practice.
The exact opposite approach of the US: prepare, prepare and then prepare some more.
Xi Jinping wonât pull the trigger until he is certain of victory, and what I have read suggests he isnât there yet. In the end, he doesnât really need Taiwan for economic value, it really does come down to just symbolism. Until recently I would have said it was unlikely that Xi would make any move in the next few years, but Trump is blowing up so much of the world order that who knows what could happen. I donât think the Trump insanity is done.

Maybe thereâll be a special on ocean perch before the end of Lent.
Trading Taiwan for Iran sounds good to me. Get out of one ill-conceived morass in exchange for staying out of another one with China. Bonus: reduced chance of nuclear war. Thereâs no way the U.S. can prevent China taking control of its renegade province. Unfortunately Trump is way too stupid (and increasingly demented) to make that trade.
Maybe Trump is being taken out of context? Maybe the Donald really means that in his current condition his Whore times are really over? The big problem is saving face as he withdraws.

Time to dust off âGuns of NavaroneââŚ.my guess is Trump is doing same this Sunday, looking for a path to victoryâŚlolz
Plot
In 1943, the Axis powers plan an assault on the island of Keros, where 2,000 British soldiers are marooned, hoping to convince neutral Turkey to join them. Rescue by the Royal Navy is prevented by two enormous radar-directed large-calibre guns on Navarone Island. Aerial bombing fails to destroy the guns and Allied Intelligence assigns a commando unit to infiltrate Navarone and destroy the guns. Led by Major Roy Franklin, the team is composed of Captain Keith Mallory, an ex-spy and an officer with the Long Range Desert Group; Colonel Andrea Stavros from the Greek Army; Franklinâs friend Corporal John Miller, an explosives expert and chemistry professor; Greco-American Spyros Pappadimos, a native of Navarone; and Casey âThe Butcher of Barcelonaâ Brown, an engineer and knife fighter.

If China sends their navy to the Middle East who side will they be on?
The side of the oppressed. The side that poses no threat to China.
Chinaâs side.
According to Ron Unz : âa Chinese blockade of Taiwan would amount to placing its hands around the windpipe of all the Westâs leading technology companies, all of Wall Streetâs wealthy investors, and to a considerable extent the entire American economy.
So now is the right time for China to strike and burst the bubble of President Donald Trumpâs American Empire. â
This would have to be very closely linked to the American aggression against Iran. In other words, China would say: âAs long as you donât stop your nonsense in the Middle East, weâre banning the supply of processors.â
It would, but China doesnât have to escalate at this time. For now they can continue to provide aid quietly and wait for the whimpering sounds.

He can declare the end of the war as much as he wants. As long as the Strait remains closed, his problem will not go away.
Since he killed the father, wife, daughter and granddaughter of the current leader, and bragged about it, good luck getting a cheap ceasefire out of Iran.
Trump might have killed the Petrodollar.
Especially if Iran demands payment in yuan for their oil and passage through the strait.
Why would other countries bail out Trump and send their navies to keep the Straight of Hormuz open when even our own navy wonât go near it?
Itâs my understanding that our navy decommissioned the ships capable of dealing with mines, so my guess would be other countries still have that capability.
Mines arenât the problem. Itâs rockets and drones.
Youâre right, but Iran can also lay mines with their mini subs. They will leave a lane to allow select ships to pass.
Yep! Thereâs no evidence that Iran mined the Strait. I think we lied about it, and used it as an excuse to blow up random boats and pretend we did something about it. Winning!
How do you âkeepâ something open thatâs been closed?
Well, drumpf can easily turn to his best buddies Hungary and Slovakia to ask for their Navies to open the Strait of Hormuz.
