AMC Theaters CEO Lets Slip Details of Taylor Swift’s Wedding Before Deleting Post

AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron inadvertently broke the omerta around the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce wedding after posting — and then deleting — a long detailed account of what went on inside at Madison Square Garden on July 3 that has had the world’s media scrambling for crumbs of information. “It was such a privilege to be THERE,” began Aron’s lengthy post on X, that was screenshotted by multiple users before it was deleted from his account. “Having been in Taylor Swift‘s orbit since AMC first took her Eras Tour movie to theaters globally in 2023, and with AMC’s headquarters ironically located in Kansas City home to the Chiefs, I saw early on that true romance was at hand.” Related Stories Aron then goes on to describe the transformation of MSG for the wedding. “Immediately upon entry, everything… floors, walls, ceilings… was draped in peach and white. Large blown up pictures of Taylor and Travis at each age, year by year from one year-old to late teenager-hood, were on display,” the executive said. He added, “A small portion of MSG was cordoned off, devoid of any notion that that a basketball or hockey game ever shared that space. Somehow magically, someone created an outdoor garden at a lush countryside retreat. Everything draped off this time in green and white. Real flowers and I think artificial trees welcomed fifteen rows of maybe 75 or so chairs. They say there were around one thousand attendees, but surprisingly, it all felt intimate and small. Everything was close.” Seemingly aware of the great interest in what the bride and groom would be wearing, Aron wrote, “A few violins and cello ushered in the wedding party. Headlined by handsome Travis in a white tux, and a jaw-dropping Taylor in a stunning white wedding dress with a long veiled train.” As The Hollywood Reporter correctly predicted before the wedding, Swift wore a gown designed by Dior Haute Couture by Jonathan Anderson. Aron described parts of the ceremony itself, including the vows overseen by an “officiant.” “An officiant talked and sang and talked. He was warm and welcoming, funny and eloquent,” Aron wrote, although he didn’t identify that it was Adam Sandler officiating the wedding, a slightly odd thing to not remark on given they both work in the movie business. Of the couple’s vows, Aron wrote that they were, “Long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing explorations by each as to how they met, why they want to be with each other for all eternity, the promises they made in joining their much-beloved two whole families (Kelce’s and Swift’s) as one, and committing to their new mutual life together.” Aron wrote that there was “music, music, music” at the event, again not surprising given Swift’s world, although he didn’t specify the acts that performed. On Saturday’s episode of Good Morning America, co-host Robin Roberts did confirm that Stevie Nicks performed at the ceremony. Aside from Aron’s now-deleted missive, there have, so far, been no significant insider accounts of the wedding, which is all the more remarkable given the reported 1,000 people guest list. Attendees to the event, arguably the highest profile celebrity wedding of the decade, were reportedly made to sign non disclosure agreements that came with the invites. It is unclear why Aron deleted his X post, but the NDAs, and the desire to remain inside Swift’s “orbit” may have made him take his recollections of the event down. Nevertheless, future historians of celebrity culture and tabloid editors the world over will be thanking him for providing an invaluable insight into Wedding (Taylor’s Version).
