Sara Duterte says she has no problem with Marcos 'as a person'
Vice President Sara Duterte on Thursday said she had no problem with President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr., as a person.
In an interview in The Hague, Duterte said her problem with Marcos was his presidency.
"Wala akong problema sa kanya bilang tao. Ang problema ko sa kanya bilang presidente. Wala kaming alitan na personal na dalawa. Baka para sa kanya, meron. Pero para sa akin wala," Duterte said.
(I don't have any problem with him as a person. My problem with him is how he is as a president. We have no personal issues. I don't know how it is with him but, as far as I'm concerned, there's none.)
"And whatever I say, whatever comment I have with his administration and with the government right now is my right to freedom of speech," she added in a video posted on the Alvin & Tourism Facebook page.
Duterte has been one of Marcos' harshest critics since their political falling-out, which led her to resign as Secretary of Education.
Marcos and Duterte were running mates when they successfully ran as president and vice president, respectively, in 2022.
Duterte is facing an impeachment trial, and one of the articles has to do with the threat she supposedly made when she said in an online press conference that she had already talked with someone to kill the President, the First Lady, and the then-Speaker Martin Romualdez if she were killed. —NB, GMA News
