‘Marshals’: Kayce Dutton Is A “Chaos Magnet” In Season 2 With Explosive New Trailer For ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff

Marshals is back with more explosions, missing children and rural romances. CBS has unveiled the first trailer for Season 2 of the CBS procedural, which stars Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, who ends the clip climbing a moving train with a big gun, obviously. The clip answered a number of questions that arose from the Season 1 finale of the Yellowstone spinoff. Firstly, it seems that two of Dutton’s fellow Marshals – Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Pete “Cal” Calvin, played by Logan Marshall-Green and Deputy U.S. Marshal Isabel “Belle” Skinner-Turek, played by Arielle Kebbel are safe after ending the season in a shoot-out. In fact, it appears they are more than safe, they are getting cozy together. Watch on Deadline Secondly, Deputy U.S. Marshal Andrea Cruz, played by Ash Santos, hasn’t gone anywhere, despite considering a job in Washington, D.C., and having said her goodbyes to her colleagues. “I never had teammates who fight for each other the way that you do,” she says in the trailer. She also calls Kayce trouble. “You really are a chaos magnet, cowboy,” she adds. Thirdly, Dutton’s son Tate, played by Brecken Merrill, is still in trouble after being taken bass fishing in Texas by Tom Weaver, played by Chris Mulkley, a Wall Street trader turned rancher who has been trying to buy East Camp. “It hurts my heart thinking of all you’ve been through,” Dutton tells his child. “I’m strong, like how you raised me to be. It’s the Dutton way,” replies Tate. On the love interest front, Kayce is seemingly still getting close with Dolly Weaver, played by Ellyn Jameson. “Do you think I’m a good man?,” he asks her. “The best,” she replies. Still, she is also the daughter of the man who is threatening his child. As with many Taylor Sheridan-produced shows, it’s about the land, man. “That Dutton family legacy… it was never about land,” Kayce says. “It’s about always having to fight. Seems like no matter where I live, someone’s willing to kill for it.” Marshals returns to CBS on October 4 and the show has some new cast members. Deadline revealed last month that Marque Richardson is joining the show and Morgan Lindholm’s role is expanding. Richardson recurs as Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Burns, while Lindholm is Maddie, the bartender at the local watering hole, Bullet ’N Barrel, and daughter of Cal.
