CalMac anger as far-right influencer secretly films customers with Meta glasses

CALMAC has temporarily banned unscheduled visits to the bridge of its ferries after a man was caught filming crew and customers using Meta glasses. Disturbingly, the person in question is believed to be a far-right influencer, who has already been accused of approaching under-age children at a rally. Our sister title, the Ayrshire Weekly Press, was contacted earlier this week by an Ardrossan to Arran passenger, who revealed a sign had been put up on the ferry saying no more children would be allowed to visit the bridge due to an incident on board. READ MORE: Newest CalMac ferry to be pulled out of service for repairs She also said there were security guards on board the MV Caledonian Isles – and revealed she overheard crew members asking each other why they were there. A CalMac spokesperson said the incident did not take place on the Arran route, but "elsewhere on the network". A spokesperson said: “Last month, a man was travelling on the network using a pair of 'Meta' glasses which allow him to record video. “He recorded multiple members of our crew/port staff and made them uncomfortable whilst doing so. He was also doing this to members of the public. "I am sure you can appreciate why they were so uncomfortable. “As a result of this, we have not stopped bridge visits but have put a temporary measure in place whereby they must be arranged in advance.” CalMac believe the same man involved was recently accused of inappropriate behaviour towards a 15-year-old during a far-right Tommy Robinson rally in London. The man in question, who describes himself as a "video influencer", was allegedly filmed "sexually harassing" the teenager in front of her own mother. One website reported that when told the girl's age, he replied: "F***ing hell. You need a warning sign on you." The child's mum replied: "She's got a mother ... that's enough."
