High expectation but low integration? Experiences in modernising and integrating information systems for supervision This paper examines the evolution of information systems that support supervision and the current maturity level of supervisory authorities in terms of systems integration. Based on survey responses, it notes that progress is mixed, with only a few authorities achieving full integration and almost half still having fragmented systems. For those with integrated systems, the paper observes a shift towards entity-centric platforms and highlights the technical and organisational challenges encountered. Integration of supervision systems is not just a technical exercise but one that requires strategic transformation, strong governance, collaboration and sound implementation practices. Integration success should be measured not only by how effective technology deployment has been but also, more importantly, by how effective supervision has become.
