Musk's SpaceX with billion-dollar quarterly earnings

Elon Musk's company SpaceX earned a billion dollars in profit last quarter after a long drought. The triggers were mainly strong increases in the business of internet from space and AI data centers. Overall, SpaceX reported black numbers of 4.4 billion dollars (3.9 billion Euros), as the company announced yesterday after the US stock market close. In the third quarter of the previous year, there was still a loss of almost one billion dollars. Revenue jumped from around 5.58 billion dollars a year ago to 14.58 billion dollars. Analysts had generally expected a revenue of 12.7 billion dollars. Strong performance in Starlink and AI In the internet from space with the Starlink satellite service, revenue increased by 69 percent to 5.2 billion dollars year-over-year. As of September 30th, Starlink had 13.6 million customers. The service is now available on 3,800 aircraft, among other things. Ukraine also depends on it to defend itself in the Russian war of aggression. The operating result of the business division more than doubled to almost 2.37 billion dollars. Ups and downs for the stock after the IPO SpaceX went public in mid-June with a record amount of 75 billion dollars. With an offering price of 135 dollars, Musk's company had a valuation of almost 1.8 trillion dollars at its debut. This was in stark contrast to the current business – but SpaceX justified the valuation with big plans for artificial intelligence (AI). In the first weeks after the IPO, the stock price rose – driven, among other things, by the interest of private investors – to almost 225 dollars. After that, the stock fell below the offering price. In an initial reaction in post-market trading, the price rose by 1.5 percent to around 150 dollars.
