1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa G50 This 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa was sold new in California and remained registered in the state until it was acquired by the current owner on BaT in October 2025 through the selling dealer. Subsequent modifications consisted of installing a revised engine management chip and aftermarket exhaust components. Powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle, the car is finished in Diamond Blue Metallic over Linen leather upholstery. It has 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, 930-specification tie rods, a removable Targa top, cruise control, power-adjustable front seats, R134a-converted air conditioning, and a JVC CD stereo. This Carrera Targa is now offered in Arizona on consignment by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a Carfax report, and a clean Montana title. The car is finished in Diamond Blue Metallic and features a black removable Targa roof panel, a front spoiler, integrated fog lights, and heated power-adjustable side mirrors. A September 2018 entry on the Carfax report lists damage to the front and right front corner of the car. Approximately $11k of subsequent repairs and paintwork included replacing the front bumper, valance, right headlight assembly, and right front fender, along with the oil cooler and assorted trim. The invoice for the work is shown in the gallery, and a photo of the damage is presented in the previous listing. Paintless dent repair was performed on the passenger door, the windshield seals were replaced, and the Targa top panel was refinished in 2025. The 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels were mounted with Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires in July 2021. A 930 tie rod kit and replacement ball joints were fitted in 2007. The left CV axle boots were replaced in March 2023. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs. The power-adjustable front seats are upholstered in Linen leather, while blue leather accents the dashboard and upper door panels. Amenities include cruise control, air conditioning, a JVC CD stereo, and power windows. A 2014 interior refresh by Finish Line Automotive Interiors of Santa Clara, California, involved rebuilding the front seat pads and reupholstering the front and rear seats along with installing Sliverknit carpeting, and replacing the front speakers. The dash pad was repaired and re-covered with black German vinyl in February 2022, and various interior surfaces were repaired and refinished in October 2025. The air conditioning system was converted to utilize R134a refrigerant in 2024 and recharged most recently in July 2025. The leather-wrapped steering wheel was refinished in 2025, and it frames VDO instrumentation, including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 170-mph speedometer, a Quarz clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 164k miles, fewer than 400 of which were added under current ownership. The instrument cluster bulbs were changed in July 2025. The 3.2-liter M930/25 flat-six features Bosch Motronic engine management, and it has been modified with a 911Chips engine management chip and SSI heat exchangers under current ownership, per the selling dealer. A replacement fuel pump, spark plugs, and exhaust gaskets were installed in 2022. Work performed since 2023 has included refinishing the fan housing and replacing the starter, fuse block, and windshield washer pump. Approximately 75 pages of service records dating from 2000 are viewable in the gallery, and compression test results are shown in the previous listing. The seller reports that a fluids service was carrid out in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Both axle assemblies were replaced in 2006, while a replacement clutch assembly, pilot bearing, main shaft seal, and shift selector shaft seal were installed in 2009. The shift bushings were repaired in 2019. The underside was treated with dry ice in 2025, and the car was fitted with a modified exhaust system without a catalytic converter under current ownership.
