Houthis blame Saudi Arabia for strikes against Taiz market that killed seven, left 40 wounded

The attack against a market at the Mawiya junction in Taiz province on Sunday was carried out by Saudi Arabia and not Yemen's internationally recognized government, according to the Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, who also warned the strike will have "severe consequences." According to Houthi claims, the attack targeted a market in the city and left more than 50 casualties, between wounded and killed. The Houthis accused the Saudis of "committing a heinous crime against civilians," while they also claimed that the attack was performed by a Saudi F-15 squadron. The statement also revealed that the Saudi attack targeted four sites in the Al-Jawf province, without specifying the casualties reported in that operation. "This blood that was unjustly and aggressively shed in the Mawiyah market in Taiz province will have severe consequences for the Saudi perpetrator," said Saree. Some 40 people injured, seven killed, Houthis say The Houthi-run health ministry said seven people were killed and 40 injured, including children, in the strikes on the Mawiya junction in Taiz. Later, Yemen's internationally recognized government said its forces had targeted a Houthi military camp and vehicles at the same junction. Three military sources within the Yemeni government told Reuters that Houthi militants had recently established a military camp near the market.
