Only a few weeks before her death, Duda Alves had publicly spoken about her decision to undergo a mastectomy, a surgical procedure for lifting and reshaping the chest. The 22-year-old had explained that the decision was made for aesthetic reasons, but also due to physical concerns. She had shown that, due to her length, the chest felt disproportionate to the body and caused back pain. "I was tired of what I had. I wanted to be in a state where I could wear clothes without seeing it, I wanted more freedom," she had declared, documenting the procedure on social networks. After the operation, the influencer had also spoken about the comments she had received from her male followers. Meanwhile, her friends and family have shared touching messages on social networks. Her sister, Sarah Mahdavi, described Duda as much more than a friend, asking for respect for the family during this difficult time. "Duda, besides being my best friend, she was my family, my love, and much more than I can imagine sometimes," she wrote. Her cousin, 19-year-old Giovanna Alves, said she had had the privilege of knowing Duda for 19 years. While her sister Clarissa Pavie remembered her humor and authenticity.
