2027 Lamborghini Urus SE Performante Ups the Ante on Hybrid Power
- Lamborghini has revealed the 2027 Urus SE Performante, a sportier version of the plug-in hybrid super SUV.
- The Performante produces 801 hp and 737 pound-feet of torque and can hit 62 mph in a claimed 3.3 seconds.
- There's also a new dual-chamber air suspension and revised aerodynamics, with a roof-mounted rear wing joined by a lip spoiler and the largest diffuser yet on an Urus.
The Lamborghini Urus went hybrid-only in 2026, but that doesn't mean it has gone soft, with the PHEV setup already churning out an impressive 789 horsepower. Now, the Italian marque is extracting even more performance out of its super SUV with the introduction of the 2027 Lamborghini Urus SE Performante.
Lamborghini previously sold a Performante version of the nonhybrid Urus, which generated 657 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. Now, with the benefit of an electric motor, the Urus SE Performante is taking the SUV to new heights, with the e-motor and twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 combining for 801 hp and 737 pound-feet of torque. This makes the SE Performante the most powerful Urus yet.

This extra oomph allows the all-wheel-drive SUV to blast to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and 124 mph in 10.8 seconds, Lamborghini claims, but we think it will go even quicker once we test one. The Performante still uses an eight-speed automatic transmission, which has been retuned to reduce lag between shifts. The 26-kWh battery will also provide over 30 miles of electric-only range, according to Lamborghini, enough to run errands around town without attracting too much attention (although the lime-green paint may counteract that).
When it's time to put the pedal to the metal, drivers will be happy to learn the braking system has also been upgraded, with Lamborghini reporting a 10 percent increase in braking power and 8 percent more efficient brake cooling. Lamborghini also fitted a new titanium exhaust from AkrapoviÄŤ, which it says creates a richer note at lower speeds and more thrilling noises under acceleration.
The Urus SE Performante also wears angrier styling. Although the SUV still weighs over 5400 pounds, the Performante managed to shed around 70 pounds versus the standard SE via the extensive use of carbon fiber. Much of it has been left exposed, including two strips on the hood. There's also an available carbon-fiber roof, although the Performante comes standard with a panoramic glass setup. Bigger openings in the front bumper help cool the engine, and the carbon-fiber wheel arches gain small slots to extract high-pressure air from around the new 23-inch wheels and reduce front lift.
The aerodynamic trickery continues at the rear, where a small roof-mounted wing directs air down to a sizable lip spoiler that works in conjunction with the largest diffuser ever fitted to an Urus to produce rear downforce. Lamborghini says the Performante has 3 percent less aerodynamic drag than the standard SE, matching the drag of the previous Performante while increasing downforce by 16 percent. The SE Performante also produces 23 percent more downforce than a standard Urus SE.

The suspension is new too, adding dual-chamber air springs, an upgrade from the single-chamber air suspension in the standard Urus SE and the coil springs found in the last Performante. Lamborghini says this new setup provides a wide range of adjustability, reducing body roll during spirited driving by 55 percent while also making the car more comfortable than the last nonhybrid Performante.
The SE Performante gains Lamborghini's "6-D sensor," first seen in the limited-production Fenomeno. This device sits near the car's center of gravity and measures six parameters, Lamborghini says: "accelerations along the three spatial axes and angular velocities related to pitch, roll, and yaw movements." It feeds this information to the car's computers to adjust the vehicle's dynamic behavior in real time and even, Lamborghini claims, act in a predictive manner.
There's also a new Rally mode designed for sliding the Performante around on loose surfaces. The setting softens the suspension to ensure the tires maintain maximum contact with the ground when sideways in the dirt, and it also increases the amount of torque sent to the rear wheels to allow you to do your best Walter Röhrl impression.
Inside, the interface for the 12.3-inch touchscreen has been redesigned, and there's carbon-fiber trim everywhere to remind you that you bought the sportiest version. Lamborghini also draped the dashboard, seats, doors, and headliner in a microsuede material, with an optional look seen here featuring red stitching and stripes.
There's no word yet on pricing or when exactly the Urus SE Performante will be available in the United States, but we expect sales to start closer to the start of 2027, and we expect it to start around $300,000.
