Utusan Malaysia reported that Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim is also expected to have an audience with Tuanku Muhriz. The meeting comes after Tuanku Muhriz revoked the appointments of all Negeri Sembilan state exco members, except for Ismail. In a statement last night, Tuanku Muhriz said the decision was made after the exco members were found to have violated their oath of allegiance to the ruler when they decided to recognise a proclamation by the state's rebel chieftain faction appointing Tuanku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar as Yang di-Pertuan Besar. In a statement today, party secretary-general Nasrul Ali Hasan Abdul Latif (below, in black suit) said the report was lodged under Section 121 of the Penal Code for attempting to wage war against a ruler, an offence that could lead to life imprisonment as well as a fine. “Putra does not intend to involve itself in the customary crisis, but matters concerning customary issues must also follow transparent legal protocols. “Putra stresses that the rule of law and the position of Malay rulers are fundamental to the Constitution and principles of the Rukun Negara. Therefore, they must always be respected and upheld by all parties,” he asserted. Lim commented on Loke’s resignation from the transport portfolio after the conditional pardon granted to former premier Najib Abdul Razak, saying it highlighted the party’s stance on the 1MDB scandal. “The 1.8 million people of Penang appreciate Loke’s sacrifice of his ministerial post for principle and would definitely thank him for his remarkable contribution to Penang,” the former finance minister said in a statement today.
