Fears have been expressed for many years: Humans would one day create a computer system that would take over humanity. It seemed the stuff of science fiction, and despite an army of dangerously nd viciously misinformed people – including Donald Trump – who say this is all a hoax, the leading figures in AI swear it is real. We have arrived at that day. Science fiction has become science fact. It’s become so alarming after reports that AI is breaking free of human control to soon create its own code an achieve Super Intelligence that the CEOs of leading AI companies want to slow down and create safeguards before recklessly moving forward. AI has now been shown to not only go rogue but to lie about its behavior, cover its tracks, create its own laws and swarms of AI agents to hack into other AI companies on a road that could lead it to becoming a new species that no longer needs us. AI is already used by humans on the battlefield and may one day independently threaten nuclear weapons and bioweapons systems. Trump thinks it’s a hoax and wants no slowdown, seeing AI development as a war with China to determine who will dominant it. China’s President XI is coming to Washington this week to see Trump. AI had better be on the agenda as only internartional cooperation and not competition can rein AI in from threatening humanity. Meanwhile, in the previously only real world, Trump, in a compromise of sorts, has settled with Denmark and Greenland for the United States to gain permanwnt control of Greenland’s defense supposedly to guard against Russia and China’s intrusion into the defrosting Artic. Trump is already planning to send GIs just in time for winter in Greenland. In other matters, Trump bans media from the White House while Netanyahu moves to revoke citzenship from IDF critics, new poll shows the U.S. public turns even more against Israel, and finally the essence of Russiagate still lives on.
