Casablanca Stock Exchange: a week in the green

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week of October 12 to 16 in the green, its main index, the MASI, gaining 1.2% to 16,997.92 points (pts). The MASI.20, which reflects the performance of the prices of the 20 most liquid companies, gained 1.32% to 1,232.03 pts and the MASI ESG, index of companies with the best ESG rating according to Moody's ESG Solutions, increased by 0.96% to 1,253.35 pts. The MASI Mid and Small Cap, which measures the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, increased by 0.54% to 1,616.68 pts. On a sectoral level, the indices "Participation and Real Estate Promotion" (+13.22%), "Pharmaceutical Industry" (+4.05%), and "Health" (+3.73%) recorded the best performances. Conversely, the sectors "Silviculture and Paper" (-1.56%), "Real Estate Investment Companies" (-1.42%), and "Transport Services" (-1.32%) experienced the sharpest declines. Trading amounted to approximately 866 million dirhams (MDH), mainly on the central "Stocks" market and dominated by transactions on Attijariwafa bank (16.59%), Sodep-Marsa Maroc (10.89%), and TGCC (10.11%). The market capitalization was established at nearly 1,000 billion dirhams (MMDH). For individual stocks, the strongest increases were shown by Addoha (+16.67% to 34.99 DH), Alliances (+11.80% to 360 DH), Résidences Dar Saada (+7.28% to 162 DH), Fenie Brossette (+7.11% to 332 DH), and Vicenne (+5.63% to 300 DH). Conversely, the sharpest declines were recorded by Zellidja (-10.73% to 232.10 DH), IB Maroc.com (-5.38% to 51 DH), Rebab Company (-4.06% to 93.80 DH), Jet Contractors (-4% to 1,440 DH), and Minière Touissit (-3.61% to 4,027 DH).
